Welcome to the Wisdom’s Way Home Page!

We are glad you have decided to join us this year in acquiring Wisdom so that we may walk in the Lord’s steps and not our own.

Wisdom’s Way is a series of studies from the Book of Proverbs. This book of the Bible is rich in timeless teachings concerning wisdom and understanding. Proverbs gives us many practical insights into human behavior. In Proverbs 1: 1-7 the purpose for writing the book is revealed. Proverbs was written for attaining wisdom, discipline, understanding, and for acquiring a prudent life. To achieve that purpose Proverbs uses many different types of literary styles that deliver powerful lessons in very few verses. We are going to be examining several of the major themes that occur in Proverbs as the basis of our studies.

The Book of Proverbs gives us many of the benefits of gaining wisdom in our lives. Wisdom is personified many times in Proverbs and she invites all to come to her and learn. Wisdom promises us that we will find the knowledge of God, if we accept God’s Word and make up our mind to obey it (Proverbs 2:1-9). Also, we receive many warnings about being foolish and following folly in our lives. Wisdom keeps us from falling into the many pitfalls of evil (Proverbs 2:10-21). It protects and guides our lives as we place ourselves under the loving control of our heavenly Father.

One of the dominant themes that run through the Book of Proverbs is the personal pursuit of wisdom. We are taught in Proverbs to get wisdom and understanding, no matter what it takes (Proverbs 4:5-7). It is with this in mind that we approach our studies of Proverbs. We hope that these studies will spur your desire to grow and pursue the wisdom that comes from God (Proverbs 2:6). Remember, to gain wisdom and understanding from God’s Word you need to empty yourself and be full of God’s Word.

God bless you!
